INTERVIEW: JUST LA - THE SUICIDE

Fabulous LA! The creator of online-shop http://www.highheelssuicide.com/ and owner of http://www.lafromlasblog.com/!

1.    Hello, LA! Happy to see you in our project! First of all, tell us some about yourself!

My name is LA (pronounced as 'la' or 'el lay', you choose), I'm a 25 years old girl living in Spain right now but planning to move to USA in the near future. Blogger, dog lover and founder of the brand High Heels Suicide.

2.    How did you first get interested in fashion and why it is important?

My grandma was a dressmaker, so I was living between cloths and pins since I was a child, I loved spending the day in her sewing workshop making dresses for my Barbies and obviously it has been a big influence over me. I see the fashion as a way of expression. You can be who you want just playing with clothes.

3.     Do you have models/designers/Fashion houses/fashion bloggers which you like and follow?

I love Erin Wasson, Karl Lagerfeld, Kate Lanphear and Moss, Marc Jacobs and Roberto Cavalli's house. Just a few.

4.     If you get the chance to create your own fashion collection, what would it look like?

It would include tons of cutoffs, leather pants, big platforms for sure and my High Heels Suicide top, of course!

5. On the cover of which magazine would you like to appear?

In Rolling Stones magazine, Vogue would sound like a cliche. I don't see me working in a magazine, actually.

6.    What is involving your basic make-up?

My daily makeup is composed by a light foundation, dark brown eyeshadow, black eyeliner, mascara, some highlighter and a bit of bronzing powder on the cheeks. Definitely MAC and Make Up Forever are my favorite cosmetic brands.

7.    And let’s start with any crazy question! ;D Describe me the breakfast of your dream!

My dream breakfast includes fresh tropical fruit, a large coffee (always coffee, latte or espresso is ok) and stuffed french toasts with Nutella and banana. I'm already salivating!

       8. If you were asked to write the script for the film, what would it be?

That's a really hard labor! I'm sure it will be a thriller with a passionate love story and stylish girls everywhere.

9.    I am proud that...

I'm never afraid to do the things that I wanna do.

 photo whiteoneteaspoonDSC_0377copia_zps18dd491d.png

     10. What is the most important thing: friendship or love? What would you choose?

I think love is more powerful than friendship, but I couldn't choose just one... it's impossible living without both of them.

      11. Is there such a person who inspires you?

I always loved Olsen twins, their style evolution is awesome, so they always were a big inspiration for me; but I can get inspired by everything, blogs, a movie, the street, catwalks... However, my biggest source of inspiration is the music, in fact, I'm always listening my old school CD’s when I'm designing for HHS, it's like a ritual.

 photo trippnycshortsDSC_0151copia_zpsa74f7469.jpg

12.  Do you like the city where you live? Does in your city live stylish people? And what about your style?

I think Spain is a beautiful country, but honestly it's not the best place to find opportunities for youth, for this reason I would love to come back to USA some day. Spanish people is quite close-minded, in my opinion... but thanks Heaven every time it's more often seeing stylish girls and boys walking through the street.
I don't have a definite style, I like playing with trends and mixing different styles. I hate total looks, find them quite ridiculous, so I always try to mix trendy pieces with my favorite stuff or vintage pieces to make it more personal. If I had to choose a style would be something like a bohemian rock star; my favorites pieces are denim cutoffs, leather jackets and big platforms, really big.

13.  Compose a playlist of your favorite songs.

Somebody got murdered - The Clash
Bleed American - Jimmy Eat World
Welcome to Paradise - Green Day
Born this way - Lady Gaga
Indestructible - Rancid (this one always cheers me up)

14.  Name 10 strange, funny and interesting things about yourself!

1.    I don't like my complete name;
2.    Nail-biter;
3.    I'm scared of the dark;
4.    I treat my dogs like humans;
5.    Carb addicted;
6.    I don't know telling jokes;
7.    I love cooking, but I'm a really bad cooker;
8.    Can drink five cans of RedBull and sleep like a baby;
9.    When I was a kid I was able to touch my nose with tongue, now, thanks Heaven, I don't.
10.                      I love eating baby food jars (probably more freak than funny or interesting, but you must try it)

     15. Your most unusual, abnormal and interesting action, which you made in your life?

They are yet to come.

16. They say that a picture is worth a thousand words. If you had to choose one picture that best represents you what would it be and why?

Haha, probably, I would draw a round circle with two eyes, a mouth and long hair. I have no idea!

 photo floralskirtDSC_0240_zps41cb40db.png

17. Do you have your own life or fashion rules?

Sure! 'Never say never' and if you want to wear it, wear it! Even if it's not appropriate.

18. In the year 2018 you will be...what will be in the future?

I will be having an almond latte in West Hollywood with my fiancé, after celebrate the opening of a new High Heels Suicide store in Rodeo Drive. Dreaming is free, right?

19. What do you want to say to thousandth public?

Just LA, the suicide ;)

20. Why you "blogg" name is LA? And what about "High Heels Suicide"? Tell us about this shop!

My friends and family call me LA, it's easier to remember (and pronounce) than my real name so when I started the blog I couldn't find a decent title, it was like 'style blah blah' 'fashion blah'... so decided call it simply my blog, "LA's blog".

Oh! High Heels Suicide was born one day during a closet war, I told to my boyfriend that if I could design my own tanks life would be so much easier and  this minor comment made me think about the idea of design anything, so everything started with two tops that were sold out in less than a week, we made five new styles and they also were sold out quickly, so why don't take it seriously? We opened the online store earlier this year (www.highheelssuicide.com)  and now, six months later, we're a solid baby-company that sells all over the world.

21. Maybe you want to wish something to my project? And do you agree to be our project friend? ;D

Oh wish you the best and more in this adventure!! I think all the projects make with passion and dedication sooner or later will be successful. So never give up! Sure, I think we can be good friends!

INTERVIEW: AMBITIOUS DENGLER IN NEW YORK!

Ambitious and determined DENGLER!

1. First of all, hello! And I want to know some information about you!

My name is Lisa Dengler, lived in Zurich, Switzerland, currently finishing up my bachelor’s degree in architecture in Canada. I was born in Germany, however grew up in Toronto in Canada, which is probably one of the best places in the world to grow up, because it teaches you to be friendly, open-minded, and not judge anyone. However, I was always in love with Europe. How close everything is together, how culturally different and rich each country was, how life was much more spontaneous and fun. So I always spent as much time travelling to Europe. When I had work semesters in university I would choose different cities in Europe to move to. So far I've lived (for 4 months or longer) in Den Haag, Stuttgart, Rome, Vienna, and Zurich.

2. I think that you are a stylish person. What do you think about your own style?

My style is constantly changing and evolving by what currently inspires me. It's always hard to describe your own style, but I guess you could say it's a mix of comfortable, edgy, and trendy, which sounds awful actually! To elaborate, I like oversized things, and high heels, and mixing put together with not put together, and then adding a hat of sorts.

3. Do you like Zurich? Are people in this city stylish?

In Zurich there are stylish people, but you don't see them that often, or at least I don't. People here have a lot of money, so it's more important for them to look rich than to look trendy. It's the alternative crowd that has a nice style, but they're harder to find. It's not quite as inspiring as travelling to Stockholm or Paris and people-watching there. Those are two cities where almost every woman looks amazingly styled.

4. Banal, but who or what inspires you?

There's many people that inspire me, from bloggers to photographers, to magazine editors, etc. I think the top of my list right now is Elin Kling, because I'm kind of doing very similar things to what she does. And she's very successful with what she's done, and I aspire to become as successful, if not more, than she is. In terms of things that inspire me, magazines such as Jalouse, Dazed&Confused, Self Service, etc. as well as movies, art work, photographs, people free-falling from 40km in the air, etc. There's so many inspirational things in life, it's hard to just name a few.

5. Do you follow fashion-weeks?

Last year (2012) was my first time really going to fashion weeks. I was in Copenhagen, Stockholm, London, and Paris, and it's a lot more stressful than I could have ever imagined. I went to over 150 different shows, many you might know (Ashish, Elie Saab, By Malene Birger), and many you probably don't know (Freya Dalsjö, Anne Sofie Madsen, KTZ). There was just so much inspiration packed into back-to-back shows, beautiful people everywhere, all of which is great, but a little overwhelming.

6. Do you have favorite designers or Fashion Houses?

After seeing their spring/summer (2012) collections, I'd have to say Simone Rocha, Burberry, Topshop Unique, Stella McCartney, Balmain, Costume National, Valentino, Maison Martin Margiela, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Alexander Wang, and Rag & Bone.

7. If you get a chance to create your own fashion collection, what would it look like?

This is an amazing question! I have always wanted to design my own collection. In this moment of my life, it would probably be minimalistic, playing with shapes, textures, and volume, with attention to the little details that you don't notice until you see up-close. Oversized shapes, mixed with tight, short pieces to emphasize the legs, playing a lot with transparencies, and luxe leather, which are my two favourite trends right now. And a beautiful colour palette of blue denim, burgundy, mustard yellows, whites and blacks.

8. Compose your playlist of your favorite songs.

1.    Imagine Dragons - It's Time
2.    The XX - Angels
3.    Foals - Spanish Sahara
4.    Benjamin Francis Leftwich - Box of Stones
5.    Daughter - Youth

9. Do you have your own life or fashion rules?

I try to tell myself everyday to be exactly who I am, no matter what people think of me.

10. Name 10 strange, funny and interesting things about yourself!

1.    I have a shopping addiction.
2.     My clothes spend more time on the floor than in the closet.
3.    I love all kinds of bitter drinks - Aperol Spritz, Bitter Lemon, Gin and Tonic, etc.
4.    When I find a food I like I'll keep eating it everyday until I get sick of it.
5.    I always listen to music when I'm working.
6.    Watching cute animal videos makes my day so much better.
7.    I'm obsessed with the shows Homeland and Pretty Little Liars (odd mix, I know)
8.    I like listening to inspirational speeches.
9.    I live off of my to-do-lists, which are written in a little notebook very neatly.
10. I secretly dream of become rich and famous.

11.  In the year 2018 you will be...what will be in the future? Do you want to be a fashion editor?

In 2018? Well I plan to become a successful entrepreneur, living in London, doing a mix between fashion photography, artwork, graphic design, fashion design, styling…the list goes on! I can tell you some of the things I want to achieve, and maybe by then I'll have achieved them. I want to create my own collection(s), open up my own boutique store carrying brands and items that I personally choose, I want to style photoshoots, but at the same time photograph them, I want to be front row at all shows during fashion weeks, and I basically want people in the fashion industry to know who I am. If you couldn't already tell, I dream a lot...

12. Your magazine name is "Just Another Fashion Magazine"! Simple and interesting! Why did you name your magazine like this?

Well it started with the blog name, which was Just Another Fashion Blog (now – JUST-ANOTHER.ME – editor) and I thought it was a very entertaining idea to have this whole brand centered around "Just Another". It's kind of an ironic play on the fact that it is just another whatever, but at the same time, it's better.

13. What do you think about the project?

I think it's a great idea to create a site with interviews of bloggers, photographers, and illustrators, but it's all going to be about how to make it unique and better than all the sites that are already out there.

INTERVIEW: ONLY SEDWICK.

Masha Sedwick. Only words. Only style. Only colourful hair and real grunge with gothic. Only Sedwick.

1. Some basic information about you: Who are you?

My Name is Masha Sedgwick, I'm 24 years old and I lived in Cologne where studied economics. I live in Berlin, Germany. I love fashion, especially alternative fashion, so I created my blog masha-sedgwick.net where I present my style, that is something between grunge and goth.

2. Do you like the city where you live? What about your own style and the preferences in fashion among Cologne’s people?

I like Cologne, although I'm not often there – it's inspiring and the people prefer individual clothes. The people in Cologne are very extroverted, tolerant and they love it, when someone's paying attention on them. Maybe it's because Cologne is famous for its huge Carneval festivals - I don't know? Anyway my style fits in this city very well.

3. They say that a picture is worth a thousand words. If you had to choose one picture that best represents you what would it be and why?

Oh, there has been taken sooo many great pictures of me – it's impossible to chose only one. Anyway I love this one:

It's just me - taken in a moment, where I forgot the camera and it's black and white, which is really good as I change my haircolor often, so in this picture you can't say what hair color it is.

4. Do you want to start your own clothing line? Do you know how to sew?

I would love to do that, yeah. I know how to sew. Sometimes I sew some stuff but the biggest thing was a fake fur coat I made by myself when I was about 13 years :D

5. Your favourite group/actor/actrice/singer?

Johnny Depp. Because he's hot.
And Kate Moss. Because she's hot, too.

6. I am proud of...

My wonderful readers and all the people around me, who support me so much. I'm very thankful for all this luck.

7. Do you have weaknesses?

I'm addicted. To fashion. And chocolate. Tons of chocolate.

8. Do you like to be free? Where do you feel this freedom?

Absolutely. I need freedom and I have big problems with some authorities.
I hate people, who are not smarter than I am, who tell me what to do.

9. Is there such a person who inspires you?

There is no one special. I feel more inspired by street style and the people around me.

10. What is love? Do you believe in it?

Sure I do. I love people and things - so it's real for me.

11. Do you have the basic make-up? Which cosmetics do you use?

Mostly I use Chanel and Mac :)

    12. How did you first get interested in fashion and why is it important? Favourite designers and places to shop?

I can't remember ever not be interested in fashion. It has always been a part of me and during my life my interest in fashion only grows.

I prefer London for shopping. No city in Europe is as experimental in fashion as London is.

13. Do you have your own life or fashion rules?

Only a life rule: I believe in karma.

15. Your most unusual, abnormal and interesting move (action), which you made in your life?

My whole person is unusual, abnormal and interesting :D
. anyway, that's what I hope!

 16. In the year 2018 you will be...what will be in the future?

I'd love to move to Australia, build a house and have a family and thousands of cats.

17. How do you think are dreams come true?

I think you just need to believe in your dreams, imagine what/ where/ who you want to be with all the details and then your dreams can get true.

18. Maybe you want to wish something to my project?

Sure :)

I wish you good luck and you don't need to wait for the answers as long as you've waited for mine!
