I remember how the first time I saw you! My friend had brought to me Russian Vogue (April 2012) and he translated to me the article about you. After that I understood that I really want to talk with you and to meet you. And so I am very excited! First of all I want to know some basic information about you.
Tell me the history of your success. You have really popular blog, mini - clothing - line and a pile of the magazines are hunting you! Why did you launch your blog? Do you have any assistants?
- I don't have any assistants, although I spend a lot of time wishing I did. I started after being photographed outside my university, which by chance was next to the NFC shows pace. After I graduated I decided to give blogging a try after some encouragement from street style photographers I had met.
Let's talk a bit about clothes. You like vintage clothes, yes? Is it a part of your own style?
- I love having special pieces that other people don't have, vintage is great for creating a classics authentic look, which is really my style. A lot of my best vintage is hand me downs from my toothed so they are personal and valuable to me too.
Maybe, you have some favorite movies/actors/actresses from 19-20 century?
- I love golden Hollywood. Lauren Bacall, Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly. Favourite movies are... ‘How to steal a million’, ‘How to marry a millionaire’, ‘To catch a thief’, ‘Vertigo’ and ‘Singing in the rain’.
And what about our modern world? Do you following some designers/ fashion houses/ models/ photographers/ writers? What do you think about contemporary ART?
- I think art and fashion is deeply personal. I don't really buy into art as a branded object. I love something because of how it looks and makes you feel rather than because the artist might be chic, although the phenomenon fascinates me as a history of art graduate. My favourite clothing labels are, Alexandra McQueen, Balmain, Alaia, Joseph, Zara and Hermes.
Lagerfeld said: "Some things never go out of fashion: jeans, the white shirt and the Chanel jacket". Do you agree with this phrase? Or do you have your own top-3 eternal clothes? Dp you have a Chanel jacket?
- I do have a Chanel jacket, and I agree with him, although there are others too. My TOP: Tux jackets, Hermes bags, smock tops, black and white striped tops, peacoats etc.
1. Only dress to impress yourself.
2. Be brave it will feel good.
3. Always make sure whatever you wear isn't too short or too tight, leave something's to the imagination.
4. Near buy shoes that are uncomfortable in the shop, it won't every work out.
Do you want to launch in the future your own fashion brand? What clothes will be in your collections?
- No, I don't want to be a designer in the traditional sense. I want to produce a limited about of pieces that are timeless and continuous, rather than seasonal and trends.
Tell me your TOP-5 favourite places in London (which tourists don't know).
- I love to eat at Yauatcha, Kitchen W8, and the Chinese canteen.
I love to shop at Harvey nicks and Joseph on the Brompton road.
Walking in Hyde Park is something I do a lot too.
Do you like the city where you live? Why?
- Yes I love it! I think there is the mix of old and new is like no where else. It's uptown and downtown everywhere.
Which countries/cities do you like the most? Do you travel a lot?
- Yes, for work and pleasure. The states, Asia and Europe the most.
Who is talented? Name one person who realy deserve attention.
- Vanessa Jackman, she's amazing.
Want to wish something to me and the project ‘Lizard’? ;D
- Working in fashion is like rowing a boat, you can do it on your own but it sure helps to have friends. I wish you all the best with the project and your future. X
